Our Distinguished Guest Speakers Your Excellencies, Invited Guests, Ladies and Gentlemen, Thirty-six years ago, precisely on 6 June 1975, the Founding Fathers of the ACP nations signed an Agreement in Georgetown, Guyana; committing themselves to building an alliance founded on solidarity, interdependence and international dialogue.

(27 May 2011) The President of Council, Honourable Ministers, Yours Excellencies, Ladies and Gentlemen, It is my singular honour and privilege to welcome you all to ACP House and to our 93rd Ministerial Council meeting. I want to thank all of you for sparing the time from your onerous duties and busy schedules to be here with us today. We meet at a time of enormous challenges as well as opportunities. A few of our countries are making good progress in social and economic development, in spite of a rather difficult international environment.

Secretary-General Chambas Your Excellency Madame Dédé Ahoéfa Ekoue, President of Council Distinguished Ministers, Excellencies, Ladies and Gentlemen, It is a great honour to be with you today. I would particularly like to thank the Secretary-General for the kind invitation to be here at the occasion of the 93rd session of the ACP Council of Ministers.

13 April 2011 Honourable Ministers, Distinguished Representatives of Regional Institutions, Ladies and Gentlemen, It is my singular honour to welcome you to this 9th Ministerial meeting of National and Regional Authorising Officers. I wish to extend a special word of welcome to all the delegations participating in this session. Your presence at this meeting is testimony to your understandable interest in the ACP-EU Partnership, and particularly to its Development Finance Cooperation component.

Meeting of Senior Officials ACP House - Brussels, 11 April 2011 Excellencies, Senior Officials, Representatives of Regional Organisations, Ladies and Gentlemen, I wish to welcome you to this 9th meeting of Senior Officials in charge of development financing issues. I would also like to extend a warm welcome to all the delegations participating in this session. The ACP countries continue to demonstrate their unfailing commitment to combat poverty.

I am happy to welcome you all to the inaugural Meeting of the open ended Ad Hoc Working Group that has been convened to prepare the participation of the ACP Group at the Fourth United Nations LDC Conference that is due to be held in Istanbul, Turkey.
