ACP Group of States Congratulates the People of Zimbabwe

Brussels, 30 November 2017/ ACP: The African, Caribbean and Pacific (ACP) Group of States congratulates the People of Zimbabwe for the smooth and peaceful manner in which they have resolved the current political challenge on the 20 November 2017.
 
The ACP Group congratulates President Emmerson Mnangagwa for acceding to the Presidency of the Republic of Zimbabwe and hails his message of leading Zimbabwe to a new and unfolding democracy. The ACP welcomes the decision by President Robert Mugabe to step down after a lifetime service to the Republic of Zimbabwe.
 
The ACP Group remains committed to promoting peace, good governance and democracy in ACP States and stands ready to support the people of Zimbabwe in their efforts to achieve the above.
