Printer-friendly versionPDF version

Brussels, 20 November 2017/ ACP: The Court process that has just concluded in Kenya and the Supreme Court’s decision today constitute a remarkable moment for Kenya. This significant development goes a long way to confirm the Country’s democratic maturity as well as the commendable functioning of its democratic institutions.

The African, Caribbean and Pacific Group of States would like to once again commend the People and the Government of Kenya for their faith in the governing pillars and institutions of democracy as well their renewed commitment for constitutionalism and rule of Law for which Kenya becomes an inspiring model.

The African, Caribbean and Pacific Group of States commend H.E. President Uhuru Kenyatta for accepting the court ruling earlier and participating in the Elections on 26 October 2017. The ACP Group congratulates the President of Kenya for his victory and pledges its support to the Government of Kenya in its efforts to move Kenya forward.
