It is to be noted that only short-listed candidates will be contacted. ../… JOB DESCRIPTION RAPPORTEUR - GRADE P3 Under the direct supervision of the Chef de Cabinet, the main responsibilities of the Rapporteur are to Write, summarize and forward agendas, summary records and minutes of the meetings of the Committee of Ambassadors, Council of Ministers and the Heads of States’ Summit of the ACP Group of States and their respective Bureau meetings and of ACP Secretariat’s Management Committee meetings. This is in order that the Stakeholders may be availed with documents that truly reflect the deliberations and decisions made in an order which thoughtfully defines further actions. Main duties - Writing draft agenda, preparatory documents and minutes of meetings so that participants may dispose of accurate, objective and neutral records of what has been said and decided in order to thoughtfully take actions for the future. - Preparing “speaking notes” and “communications” for the Chairperson of the Bureau of the Committee of Ambassadors and the Committee of Ambassadors as well as the Chairperson of the Bureau of the Council of Ministers and the Council of Ministers in order to allow him/her to conduct the meetings effectively, efficiently and with fluency. - Preparing draft Summary Records of meetings indicted above including weekly Management Committee meetings. - Participates in the preparation of the above-mentioned meetings and ensures the availability of the appropriate documents. - Performs other duties as required Requisite qualifications - A university degree in languages, Literature, Law, Journalism or Political/Social Sciences; - A minimum of 3 years of working experience as précis writer (Rapporteur), journalist or editor, in a national or international organization. - Computer literacy is a prerequisite with practical experience in Microsoft packages. - Excellent written and oral communication skills in English and French. A working knowledge of Portuguese or Spanish would be an added advantage.
ANNEX 2 CONDITIONS OF SERVICE In conformity with Article 12 of the Staff Regulations, staff of the Professional and General Services categories are appointed by the Secretary-General on the recommendation of the Recruitment Advisory Committee chaired by the Assistant Secretary-General, Head of the Department of Administration, Finance and Human Resources. The salary attached to the post, is within the following range: Grade P3: Net basic monthly salary: from 3.906,00 € (1st step) to 4.999,00 € (15th step) Monthly housing allowance: 1.269,00 €. In the framework of their functions, members of staff are governed by the Staff Regulations of the Secretariat (ACP/41/017/03 Rev.6) and by any other decision that may be adopted by the competent ACP authorities regarding employment. |
