PRESS RELEASE: Panel to tackle key issues in mineral resource management

ACP PRESS RELEASE - 12 September 2011: Experts and Ambassadors will gather at the African, Caribbean and Pacific Group of States (ACP Group) headquarters in Brussels this Friday, 16 September, to discuss critical topics in managing the exploitation of mineral resources in the ACP region.

 The one-day strategic seminar, titled “Stakes, challenges and perspectives on mineral resources management in ACP countries”, is hosted by the ACP Group, as part of an ongoing series of meetings focused on sustainable development for its member states.

Liege’s bid to host World Expo 2017 top on agenda during ACP Committee of Ambassadors visit

ACP Press Release: 22 June 2011: Members of the African, Caribbean and Pacific (ACP) Committee of Ambassadors visited the Belgian city of Liege today on the invitation of the Colleges and the city.
The visit was organised by the City of Liege in partnership with the Organisation of La Francophine (OIF) in Brussels. The intention of the visit was to allow the ACP Ambassadors to visit key sites in the city and to meet with leaders of the province which is bidding to host the World Expo in 2017.

ACP Press Release – 1 June 2011: The 36th Session of the ACP-EU Council of Ministers ended with both parties renewed their commitment to fight against the eradication of poverty in the African, Caribbean and Pacific (ACP) states. Secretary-General of the ACP Group Dr. Mohamed Ibn Chambas said the meeting was a success and it was an opportunity for the ACP Ministers to exchange views on pertinent issues under the Cotonou Partnership Agreement.

Ladies and gentlemen, it gives me great pleasure to say a few words following the successful conclusion of the 93rd Session of the ACP Council of Ministers.

Before I start may I express my profound gratitude to all of you, the ACP journalists, who are here to cover the ACP Council of Ministers, I do hope that you would give the ACP Group the much needed visibility it needs.
