On 28th September 2018 the ACP Group of States and the EU began negotiations for a successor Agreement to the Cotonou Agreement which comes to an end in February 2020. This section contains all you need to know about the negotiations.

PRESS RELEASE: Panel to tackle key issues in mineral resource management

ACP PRESS RELEASE - 12 September 2011: Experts and Ambassadors will gather at the African, Caribbean and Pacific Group of States (ACP Group) headquarters in Brussels this Friday, 16 September, to discuss critical topics in managing the exploitation of mineral resources in the ACP region.

 The one-day strategic seminar, titled “Stakes, challenges and perspectives on mineral resources management in ACP countries”, is hosted by the ACP Group, as part of an ongoing series of meetings focused on sustainable development for its member states.

First South Sudanese delegation to visit ACP House

Brussels, 12 September 2011: Twelve diplomats from the Republic of South Sudan were welcomed at the African, Caribbean and Pacific Group of States (ACP Group) House in Brussels last week.

This is the first delegation from South Sudan, soon to be the newest member of the ACP Group since the nation gained independence in July 2011.

I wish to express my profound gratitude for the opportunity to address you.  I have taken it as a special task during my term of office to strengthen the link between the ACP and its respective regions and sub-regions, thus the reason for the ACP Group seeking observer status at the Forum.

ACP PRESS RELEASE - 8 September, 2011: The African, Caribbean and Pacific Group of States (ACP Group) has been invited to become an Observer member of the most dominant political grouping of states in the Pacific region.

Communique of the ACP Group on Food security situation in the Horn of Africa

The ACP Group of States is deeply concerned with the deteriorating food security situation in the Horn of Africa.

This crisis has already claimed thousands of lives and is threatening the lives of more than 10 million people with many more at risk of starving to death if relief does not reach them in good time.

The ACP Group expresses solidarity with, and profound sympathy to, the Governments and peoples of the affected countries in the Region at the tragic loss of lives, livelihoods and human suffering, especially of women, children and the elderly.

PRESS RELEASE: Uganda takes Presidency at the ACP Group

ACP PRESS RELEASE – July 28 2011: The Republic of Uganda has taken over the Presidency of the African, Caribbean and Pacific (ACP) Group from the Federation Republic of Nigeria, which held the office for the past six months (February-July 2011).

Communiqué from the African, Caribbean and Pacific Group of States (ACP Group) following the coup d'etat and assassination attempt against President Alpha Condé, President of the Republic of Guinea

The ACP Group is shocked to learn of the attack on the residence of President Alpha Condé, President of the Republic of Guinea, by a group of soldiers on Tuesday 19 July 2011. The ACP Group firmly condemns this aborted coup d'etat and attempted assassination of the President of Guinea, and reiterates its rejection of accession to power by violence or unconstitutional means.
